Phoenix Lahaina

This is the oldest Banyan Tree in the United States. This was taken in Lahaina, on Maui Hawaii. This is the same Lahaina that was burned by wildfires in Hawaii, this tree was also a victim in the fire. I love this image because it shows the interconnected branch and root system of this insanely huge tree. This tree grows back into the ground from its branches. The only species of tree that can do this. This unique 360 degree growth allows the tree to spread outwards indefinitely. Its the largest species of tree in the world.
